Analysis of EHR-Related Claims: Part II

Electronic health records (EHRs) are a growing risk in medical liability claims. A study by The Doctors Company, the nation’s largest physician-owned medical malpractice insurer, of 97 closed malpractice claims in which EHRs were a contributing factor revealed the most common patient allegations and the top causes of patient injuries in these claims.

The second video of a two-part series examining EHR-related claims explores several claims brought about by both user and system factors, including copy-and-paste errors, insufficient area for documentation, and lack of an EHR drug alert.
