Dr Klaus Wilkens: International Swimming Hall of Fame "Harold Martin Award 2017"

The International Swimming Hall of Fame honors Dr. Klaus Wilkens (Germany) with the "G. Harold Award" for his lifetime work to advancing water safety among children. Dr. Stathis Avramidis nominated and received the award on behalf of Dr. Wilkens by Bruce Wigo (ISHOF President/CEO) and Jim Martin (son of Harold Martin) in a spectacular awarding ceremony (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, USA, August 25, 2017).

Dr. Wilkens is currently the Lifetime Honorary President of the International Life Saving Federation of Europe and former President of DLRG in Germany.

The inscription of the award is: "International Swimming Hall of Fame. G. Harold Martin Award. For that special person who sets a standard for mankind with his commitment to aquatics, who has lived his life with a passion to bring forth in the world a dream or vision, a way of being for mankind that is independent of any personal goals."
